I'm Steve and this site is something I've been doing for a while. I'm a New Zealander that relocated to Taiwan around six years ago. Six years on this awesome island! However, over that time I don't know how many times I've heard people, including myself, say "What!? [insert band name here] played in Taiwan and I didn't know about it? How did I miss that?".

So I spent a weekend developing this website. That was at the start of 2009 and since then I've spent a lot more time upgrading features, making things a bit prettier and also making bigger plans. The biggest recent change is that the site now has CD and gig reviews and interviews with people somehow involved in Taiwan's music scene.

Taiwan has a great music scene but there's still room for improvement. Not only are there some great bands here, but Taiwan is just a small hop from Japan, Hong Kong, China, Korea (etc. etc.) and is an easy/cheap stop-off point.

We've been seeing some great international bands play here recently and hope the trend continues. If your band (doesn't matter how underground you are!) wants to tour Asia then we hope you can find venues and promoters to make it possible to play Taiwan too. If you need further help then just ask me.

I am looking for contributers from around the country to write reviews, interviews and scene reports. If you're a keen gig-goer and want to get involved then get in touch. I'm also looking for someone to do the English/Chinese translations.
