Ting Chu 庭竹;
The first song Jasmine (庭竹) wrote was when she was in her late teens and needed an emotional release. Her uncle had passed away leaving the teenager unable to channel her grief. “I needed a song to sing – but there wasn’t one yet written for me” she remembers. So she picked up a guitar and created her own, “Blessing”.

It was the start of a songwriting process that would soon see Jasmine creating work on both the piano and guitar, and gigging her way around coffee shops and bars during her years at university.

Upon graduation in 2004, Jasmine decided to put the inheritance money left by her beloved uncle to good use: She flew to Los Angeles to attend the Musician’s Institute to major in Keyboard and Digital Music. Jasmine was soon under the tutelage of Lupo Groinig, producer of Hong Kong pop sensations, Soler. Hearing her raw talent, Groinig offered her a record deal with HummingBird Music.
