UNDERWORLD presents SPIKE - Punk Rock Party

Spike. It's a word that's synonymous with punks and the punk rock attitude. Spiked hair, clothing covered in spikes and studs, those are the obvious ones, but punk music was all about giving all those stupid people (the bigots, those with too much power and money, the baby-boomers and 9-5ers) a prod with a sharp object - a spike - and saying "fuck your lifestyle". The music too, fast, loud, aggressive and painful for some to listen to, like sticking spikes in your ears. It's not pretty and it was never meant to be. This is punk. This is spike.

DJ Steve (Little Fingers)
Underworld regular and long time punk rock lover, Steve comes from a small country in the middle of fucking nowhere, New Zealand. It's a country that has a long love affair with punk music yet New Zealand's isolation from the rest of the world inspired many desperate punkers to mimic and create their own punk rock and in doing so created what is still today a strong and productive scene. A testament to the DIY ethic. It's from this scene that spat Steve out where he ended up in Taipei some 4 years ago.
Expect a few of your punk rock and hardcore favourites along with a bunch of bands you have probably never heard before.

大家好我是阿強，我很喜歡龐克，喜歡到連龐統 (字士元) 、龐德 (字令明)、龐會的生平逸事都把他背起來。punk 在台灣叫龐克，在中國叫朋克，在日本叫パンク，就是那種用釘子把輪胎戳那種聲音，所以都很喜歡穿釘子在身上吧。所以當天我們一起穿上釘子吧，我會穿釘鞋！
